In-line Check Valve
In-Line Check Valve
Introduction of In-Line Check Valve
An in-line check valve is similar to a lift check valve. The main difference is that an in-line check valve has a spring that rises when there is pressure on the upstream line of the valve. The primary function of this check valve is to prevent the backward transfer of pressure, instead of the flow itself.
Depending on the operating conditions, an in-line check valve can be made from different durable materials. Some of these are stainless steel, carbon steel, forged steel, and brass. Generally, this check valve type is made with a full port as it provides several benefits. Among these are simple installation, low-pressure drop, and less water hammer.
An in-line check valve is commonly used in compressed gas and air systems, water systems, and vacuum pumps.
